Family owned and operated boutique winery in South West Victoria.

Cathcart Ridge Estate was established in 1975. The winery and vineyard are now part of the historic 'Jellalabad' homestead c1840 situated at Darlington, South West Victoria, owned by the Farnhill family.

The Mt Emu Creek range is a boutique style, cool climate wine created by Cathcart Ridge on the fertile banks of Mt Emu Creek in the grampians region of South West Victoria.

Winemaker: David Farnhill

Multi award winning winemaker David Farnhill has grown and produced outstanding wines for many years under the labels Cathcart Ridge Estate, Mt Ararat Estate and now Mt Emu Creek Wines. He's now mentoring Victoria who is studying a Bachelor of Ag Science, majoring in Viticulture and Winemaking.

Cathcart Ridge Estate Wines

Founded in 1975 by winemaker David Farnhill, Cathcart Ridge Estate is the premium label at this estate.  This brand has been awarded over 150 medals over the past 30 years.

 

Mt Emu Creek Wines

At Mt Emu Creek Wines, a small range and quantity of wines is produced each year making each bottle very special.  The grapes are hand picked by family and friends, and then David uses his extensive wine making expertise to produce outstanding award winning wines.


Historic Jellalabad Homestead

Jellalabad Homestead was first established in 1840 and is an icon of the Australian wool industry.  

The all new cellar door welcomes visitors to taste award winning wines and learn about the history of the Darlington district and 'Jellalabad'.

For a truely unique wine and history experience, please book in advance. 

The vineyard & winery are open on Sundays between September to May from 11.00 to 5.00 unless otherwise stated.
